    Owner, Maker, Designer

I'm Wenz, creator of The Screaming Needle. I ride a motorcycle. Whispering silly names into my cats ear makes me smile. I sit on a saddle stool and a knee chair when working. I once sneezed a bobby pin out of my hairbun. Cheese scares me.

Hi there and thanks so much for stopping by!
I'm Wenz, the founder of The Screaming Needle.

I want you to have 100% confidence and buy with a smile.

I do everything possible to make the whole process from sewing to selling a pleasant one, the way I would've wanted it if I was the buyer myself. I try to maintain a high level of quality, clarity and joy in each and every creation, conversation and sale. If you have any questions after reading these policies, don't hesitate to contact me - I will reply asap.

All items displayed here are licensed under a creative commons license and are original The Screaming Needle designs.

Returns & exchanges

Payment

~Paypal is accepted. You don't need a Paypal account to buy, you can use your credit card via Paypal as well. As soon as I've received your payment, I'll ship the item(s)! They're eager to reach their new home, you know. :)

~If payment isn't received within 2 days, I'll have to cancel the sale. If for some reason you have trouble paying online, just convo or email me, and we will work it out, no problem.

~Please note that the buyer is responsible for all possible import duties, taxes and fees.

Shipping

~I don't charge actual shipping costs, shipping from Belgium is, unfortunately, rather expensive. I choose to not charge the buyer the full amount (around 21 dollar for a shrug) but rather a small portion, and pay the difference myself. Every now and then, I visit my home country The Netherlands, if I do, I take my packages with me and ship them from there, since shipping costs are much lower over there. I always let you know when your item has been shipped. Generally I ship out packages every other day.

~All items are shipped in cardboard or boned envelopes, as soon as your payment is received. I usually ship every other day. The Screaming Needle does everything possible to make sure your purchase will reach you in excellent shape.

~All my cuffs and tees are priority mail. If you would like insurance, please contact me for a revised invoice. I ship international all the time, however sadly I can't add any tracking on these packages.

Additional policies and FAQs

~Washing instructions:

If not specified otherwise in the listing, the shrugs and tees in my shop can be washed at 30 degrees C / 85 degrees F - delicates. Air dry, no tumble dry, especially printed garment.

The cuffs preferably surface cleaning with a damp cloth. You could machine wash them, but I can't guarantee the filling won't bulk.

~Ironing instructions:

Ironing temperature between 2 to 3 dots - turn the shrug or tee inside out before ironing. Be careful with the trim around the shrugs, they can melt and give your iron a little color. :) - Be careful to just iron the cotton bodice, not the trim.

~How to know if an item will fit:

A safe way of being sure something will fit is to take measurements of an article of clothing you already own that fits you very well (preferably a non-stretch item of course!). Use those measurements as your personal guide, or:

Measuring yourself properly with a measuring tape:
Bust size ~ under the armpits, over your bust, widest part.
Waist size ~ smallest part around your torso, above or below the bellybutton - to find your waist, bend at your side. The part that dips in is your waist.
Hip size ~ below the hips, widest part of your behind.
Armpit circumference ~ wrap the tape around where your arm and shoulder meet, be sure to keep the tape on top on the flat part of your shoulder. Go all the way around under the armpit and back up again. Don't wrap the tape too snug, leave a bit of room.
Wrist circumference (for the cuffs) ~ measure your wrist about 1 1/2 inch below the part where your hand meets your arm. (That is about an inch below the the wrist joint, visible when turning your hand up and down.)

Always make sure all measurements are taken with the measuring tape even and parallel to the floor all the way around. And remember: non-stretch garment need a little extra room compared to your actual body measurements so you can move comfortably!

When purchasing clothes, please check the measurements carefully before buying.

Everything I make is one of a kind! (But if you'd like a second cuff matching the first one and I still have all the fabrics and clasps in stock, I'll be happy to make a matching pair.)

~Depending on your personal color and hue settings of your computer screen, actual colors of the garment may differ slightly. I do try to describe my creations as accurate as possible. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

~Oh and I have a little kitty running around my house. She is not allowed in the sewing studio, but for those of you who have severe allergies, I thought it was good to mention.
